Manufacturing excellence
Traditional extraction, pharmaceutical precision, uncompromising quality.
Herbal manufacturing expertise
Zhenatura sources premium herbal materials from leading manufacturers of Chinese herbal extract products. Our expertise spans both the renowned Zhenatura brand of classical TCM formulas and individual herbal medicinals. Through decades of experience and robust scientific infrastructure, we maintain the rigorous specifications required for clinical research and therapeutic application. Our manufacturing processes and equipment have been specifically designed to preserve active constituents while maximizing product efficacy, yield, and quality. By combining traditional knowledge with modern pharmaceutical-grade technology and comprehensive quality control, we deliver concentrated herbal extracts of exceptional standard. We also offer contract manufacturing services tailored to meet specialized requirements and unique formulation needs.
Herb authenticity
Authenticated source materials
All raw herbal materials are obtained from carefully selected private growers and suppliers who meet Zhenatura’s stringent quality specifications. We secure consistent supply through long-term partnerships with trusted sources and systematically evaluate each crop against our criteria before acquisition. The open market poses significant risks: non-authenticated medicinals, contamination issues, adulterants, and inferior constituent profiles. We refuse to compromise, only materials that meet our quality standards enter our facility.
Verification process
Medicinal authentication requires unwavering attention. An unauthenticated herb may not be the correct species or possess the desired therapeutic properties. Market variability means many materials sold commercially do not match their claimed identity. We verify species authenticity through analytical scientific methods before accepting any raw material. Our supplier’s dedicated herbal sourcing team oversees every aspect—from authentication and quality assessment to proper handling, storage, and condition monitoring throughout the supply chain.
Manufacturing process
Our validated manufacturing protocols and equipment are engineered to retain active constituents and optimize therapeutic potential. Each production batch is meticulously documented according to established procedures.
Water extraction
Following classical TCM tradition, herbs are decocted in water at controlled temperatures for precise durations. This time-honored method offers optimal extraction of medicinal constituents without altering their therapeutic actions. Water serves as a neutral solvent that preserves the formula’s unique character. Decocting all ingredients together creates a synergistic product more potent than the sum of individual components. We use exclusively water-based decoction methods throughout our entire manufacturing process.
Critical Process Controls:
● Precise herb-to-water ratios
● Sequential herb input according to traditional protocols
● Temperature and time monitoring
● Essential oil recovery procedures
Decoction sequencing
The order in which herbs enter the decoction directly impacts formula efficacy. Traditional texts specify that certain herbs must be added first, others later, to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. Our manufacturing team strictly follows established decoction sequences appropriate to each classical formula, as the final product’s effectiveness depends entirely on proper preparation methodology.
Essential oil recovery
Aromatic herbs containing volatile essential oils require special handling.Traditional practice dictates adding these herbs only during the final minutes of decoction to prevent heat degradation of sensitive active compounds. At pharmaceutical scale, standard closed decoction systems can lose 23-29% of volatile components through evaporation. To prevent this loss, we employ proprietary essential oil recovery technology that captures and reintegrates these critical constituents. Analytical verification confirms retention of volatile active ingredients, ensuring maximum efficacy in the finished product.
Concentration
Low-temperature vacuum concentration prevents degradation of heat-sensitive constituents while efficiently reducing liquid volume.
Granulation & stabilization
Fluid-Bed Granulation: The concentrated extract is transformed into stable granules through fluid-bed processing with pharmaceutical-grade excipients.
Excipients: A controlled amount of excipient is necessary to convert liquid extract into dry, free-flowing granules. Without proper excipient ratios, granules absorb atmospheric moisture, clump, and destabilize. Zhenatura uses only non-GMO cornstarch as our excipient base.
Spray Drying: Our advanced spray-drying technology requires minimal excipients while effectively preserving active constituents. Spray-dried products demonstrate superior solubility, supporting optimal bioavailability and absorption.
