This product is sold exclusively as a dietary supplement. It is not a medicine. Its use is based on traditional TCM applications.

Main benefits

  • Pattern Identification: Traditionally used for the TCM pattern of Wind-Cold-Damp external invasion in a patient with a robust constitution, characterized by severe chills and fever (without sweating), severe body aches, stiff neck, headache, nasal congestion, and coughing.

  • Core Function: The formula is classically said to release the exterior, disperse Wind and Cold, eliminate Dampness, and alleviate pain.

  • Exterior and Pathogen Relationship: Based on the TCM principle of opening the pores to expel trapped climatic pathogens, the formula uses warm, dispersing herbs to push Wind, Cold, and Dampness out through the skin, specifically designed for individuals without an underlying Qi deficiency.

  • Key Ingredients: Jing Jie and Fang Feng strongly release the exterior and disperse Wind; Qiang Huo and Du Huo eliminate Wind-Dampness and relieve severe joint and muscle pain in both the upper and lower body; Chuan Xiong moves Blood to relieve headaches; Chai Hu and Bo He vent pathogens from the muscle layer; Jie Geng, Zhi Ke, and Qian Hu regulate Lung Qi, open the chest, and stop coughing; Fu Ling drains Dampness; Sheng Jiang and Gan Cao harmonize the formula; while Corn Starch serves as a modern excipient for pill/tablet binding.

  • Environmental Component (TCM): Often used when acute flu-like symptoms and intense body aches are triggered by exposure to harsh weather—such as cold winds, drafts, or cold rain—reflecting the sudden blockage of the body's defensive (Wei) Qi.

  • Region of Action: Primarily targets the exterior (skin, muscles, and Taiyang channels) to relieve pain and stiffness, while secondarily regulating the Lungs to address respiratory congestion and coughing.

  • Classical Heritage: An adaptation of the classic Ren Shen Bai Du San, this version (recorded in texts like the Ming-dynasty She Sheng Zhong Miao Fang) removes the tonifying ginseng and adds Jing Jie and Fang Feng to create a strictly pathogen-expelling formula for physically robust individuals.

Zhenatura Jing Fang Bai Du San Extra Strong is based on the classical Jing Fang Bai Du San (“Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Powder to Overcome Pathogenic Toxins”), first recorded in the Ming-dynasty medical text She Sheng Zhong Miao Fang (“Marvelous Formulas for Nourishing Life”) by the renowned physician Zhang Shi-che. Within traditional Chinese herbal literature, this specific combination of botanicals—including Schizonepeta, Saposhnikovia Root, Notopterygium Root, Pubescent Angelica Root, Bupleurum Root, Peucedanum Root, Sichuan Lovage Rhizome, Bitter Orange, Platycodon Root, Poria Mushroom, Licorice Root, Fresh Ginger, and Peppermint—was described as a method to “release the exterior,” “dispel Wind and Dampness,” and “overcome pathogenic toxins” in accordance with the TCM theoretical framework. These descriptions belong exclusively to the traditional conceptual system of Chinese medicine and do not refer to modern anatomy, psychology, or scientifically validated physiological effects.
