This product is sold exclusively as a dietary supplement. It is not a medicine. Its use is based on traditional TCM applications.

Main benefits

  • Pattern Identification: Traditionally used for the TCM pattern of "Spleen Bind" (Pi Yue) or Gastrointestinal Dry-Heat, characterized by chronic constipation with hard, dry stools that are difficult to pass, frequent clear urination, and a dry mouth or mild thirst.

  • Core Function: The formula is classically said to moisten the intestines, unblock the bowels, clear internal Heat, and gently move Qi downward.

  • Dryness and Heat Relationship: Based on the TCM principle that "Heat consumes fluids, leading to Dryness in the Intestines," the formula elegantly combines oil-rich, moistening seeds with gentle heat-purging herbs to lubricate the digestive tract and stimulate bowel movements without being overly harsh or exhausting to the patient.

  • Key Ingredients: Ma Zi Ren/Huo Ma Ren (Hemp Seed) and Xing Ren (Apricot Seed) are rich in natural oils that deeply lubricate and moisten the dry intestines; Da Huang (Rhubarb) clears Heat and purges intestinal stagnation; Hou Pu (Magnolia Bark) and Zhi Shi (Immature Bitter Orange) direct Qi downward to break up fullness and relieve abdominal bloating; Shao Yao (White Peony) nourishes Yin and Blood to protect the body's fluids and soothe intestinal spasms; while Corn Starch serves as a modern excipient for pill/tablet binding.

  • Metabolic/Digestive Component (TCM): Often used for the elderly, postpartum individuals, or those with a naturally dry/warm constitution who suffer from chronic, habitual constipation where bodily fluids have been depleted, rather than a sudden, acute blockage.

  • Region of Action: Primarily targets the Stomach, Large Intestine, and Spleen, focusing on restoring fluid balance and promoting normal downward peristaltic motion in the lower digestive tract.

  • Classical Heritage: First recorded in the Han-dynasty classic Shang Han Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage) by Zhang Zhong-Jing, it is the archetypal formula for treating "Spleen Bind" and dry, heat-induced constipation.

Zhenatura Ma Zi Ren Wan Extra Strong is based on the classical Ma Zi Ren Wan (“Hemp Seed Pill”), first recorded in the Han‑dynasty medical classic Shang Han Lun (“Discussion of Cold‑Induced Disorders”) attributed to the physician Zhang Zhong‑jing. Within traditional Chinese herbal literature, this pill—prepared from botanicals such as Da Huang (Chinese Rhubarb Root and Rhizome), Hou Po (Magnolia Bark), Huo Ma Ren (Hemp Seed), Shao Yao (Peony Root), Xing Ren (Apricot Kernel), and Zhi Shi (Bitter Orange Young Fruit), combined with an inert base like Yù mǐ diàn fěn (Corn Starch)—was described as a method to “moisten the Intestines,” “drain Heat,” and “guide Qi downward to relieve constraint” according to the theoretical principles of TCM. These descriptions belong exclusively to the traditional conceptual system of Chinese medicine and do not refer to modern anatomy, pharmacology, or scientifically validated physiological effects.

For Ma Zi Ren Wan, take 3 tablets 2 times per day. These should be taken before or after meal.
