This product is sold exclusively as a dietary supplement. It is not a medicine. Its use is based on traditional TCM applications.

Main benefits

  • Pattern Identification: Traditionally used for the TCM pattern of Wind-Cold-Damp external invasion combined with underlying Qi deficiency, characterized by high fever, severe chills (without sweating), stiff neck, severe body aches, stuffy nose, and coughing with sputum in a patient with a weak constitution.

  • Core Function: The formula is classically said to release the exterior, dispel Wind, Cold, and Dampness, and tonify Qi to expel pathogenic factors.

  • Deficiency and Pathogen Relationship: Based on the TCM principle of "supporting the Righteous (Zheng) Qi to expel pathogens" (Fu Zheng Qu Xie), the formula tonifies the body's internal energy (Qi) so it has the strength to push out the external Wind-Cold-Damp invasion without further exhausting the patient.

  • Key Ingredients: Qiang Huo and Du Huo strongly release the exterior and relieve pain from Wind-Cold-Dampness in the upper and lower body; Chuan Xiong invigorates Blood and relieves headaches; Chai Hu and Bo He release pathogenic influences from the muscle layer; Jie Geng, Zhi Ke, and Qian Hu regulate Lung Qi, open the chest, and stop coughing; Ren Shen (Ginseng) and Fu Ling (Poria) tonify Qi and expel Dampness to support the body's defenses; Sheng Jiang and Gan Cao harmonize the formula, while Corn Starch serves as a modern excipient for pill/tablet binding.

  • Constitutional Component (TCM): Often used for elderly, postpartum, or chronically ill patients (who lack the vital energy to sweat out a cold normally) when they catch a severe cold or flu, ensuring the pathogen is expelled without damaging their already weakened constitution.

  • Region of Action: Primarily targets the exterior (muscles, skin, and joints) to relieve body aches, while simultaneously regulating the Lungs (for respiratory symptoms) and the middle jiao (Spleen/Stomach) to generate defensive Qi.

  • Classical Heritage: First recorded in the Song-dynasty pediatric text Xiao Er Yao Zheng Zhi Jue (Key to Therapeutics of Children's Diseases) by Qian Yi, it has become the quintessential classical formula for treating external invasions in Qi-deficient individuals.

Zhenatura Ren Shen Bai Du San Extra Strong is based on the classical Ren Shen Bai Du San (“Ginseng Powder to Overcome Pathogenic Toxins”), first recorded in the Song-dynasty medical text Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang (“Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era”). Within traditional Chinese herbal literature, this specific combination of botanicals—including Ginseng Root, Poria Mushroom, Peucedanum Root, Sichuan Lovage Rhizome, Notopterygium Root, Pubescent Angelica Root, Platycodon Root, Bupleurum Root, Bitter Orange, Fresh Ginger, Licorice Root, and Peppermint—was described as a method to “release the exterior,” “dispel Wind and Dampness,” and “augment Qi” in accordance with the TCM theoretical framework. These descriptions belong exclusively to the traditional conceptual system of Chinese medicine and do not refer to modern anatomy, psychology, or scientifically validated physiological effects.

For Ren Shen Bai Du San, take 3 tablets 2 times per day. These should be taken before or after meal.
