Main benefits

  • Pattern Identification: Traditionally used for the TCM pattern of underlying Spleen and Kidney deficiency complicated by Damp-Heat pouring downward into the Conception Vessel (Ren Mai), characterized by chronic, unremitting, viscous, yellow, foul or fishy-smelling vaginal discharge (leukorrhea), accompanied by a pale-yellow complexion, dizziness, and a heavy sensation in the head or lower abdomen.

  • Core Function: The formula is classically said to strengthen the Spleen, secure the Kidneys, clear Heat, drain Dampness, and astringe excessive vaginal discharge.

  • Deficiency and Damp-Heat Relationship: Based on the TCM principle that weak Kidneys and Spleen fail to properly transform fluids into vital essence; instead, these stagnant fluids turn into pathological Dampness. When combined with localized Heat in the Lower Jiao, this Dampness thickens and turns yellow. The formula prioritizes repairing the organs' fluid-management capacity at the root, rather than just aggressively clearing the surface inflammation.

  • Key Ingredients: Heavy doses of Shan Yao (Chinese Yam) and Qian Shi (Euryale Seed) form the foundation, profoundly tonifying the Spleen and Kidneys to stop the root production of Dampness while strongly astringing the discharge; Huang Bai (Phellodendron) clears the Heat that causes the yellow color and foul odor; Che Qian Zi (Plantago Seed) drains the Dampness out through the urine; and Bai Guo (Ginkgo Nut) specifically targets the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) to powerfully bind and stop the discharge.

  • Gynecological Component (TCM): Highly regarded in both classical and modern practice for chronic, recurring vaginitis, cervicitis, or pelvic inflammatory disease where aggressive antibiotic or heat-clearing herbs have failed because the patient's underlying energetic "machinery" (Spleen/Kidneys) remains broken and continues to leak fluids.

  • Region of Action: Primarily targets the Spleen and Kidneys (the organs of fluid metabolism), the Lower Jiao, the Bladder, and the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) / Uterus.

  • Classical Heritage: First recorded by the legendary Qing-dynasty gynecological master Fu Qing-Zhu in his seminal work Fu Qing-Zhu Nu Ke (Fu Qing-Zhu's Gynecology), it is the ultimate archetype ("Change the Yellow Decoction") for treating thick discharge with a mixed deficiency/excess presentation.

Zhenatura Yi Huang Tang Extra Strong is based on the classical Yi Huang Tang (“Change Yellow Decoction”), first recorded in the Qing-dynasty medical text Fu Qing Zhu Nu Ke (“Fu Qingzhu's Gynecology”) by the renowned physician Fu Qing-zhu. Within traditional Chinese herbal literature, this specific combination of botanicals—including Chinese Yam, Euryale Seed, Ginkgo Seed, Phellodendron Bark, and Plantago Seed—was described as a method to “strengthen the Spleen and Kidneys,” “clear Damp-Heat in the Lower Jiao,” and “secure the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel)” in accordance with the TCM theoretical framework. These descriptions belong exclusively to the traditional conceptual system of Chinese medicine and do not refer to modern anatomy, psychology, or scientifically validated physiological effects.

For Yi Huang Tang, take 3 tablets 2 times per day. These should be taken before or after meal.
