Our quality control approach
Zhenatura implements a rigorous quality control system extending from raw material reception through to final manufacturing. This comprehensive approach guarantees the safety, consistency, and efficacy of every batch. Both raw herbs and finished products undergo regular, stringent testing for heavy metals, microbiological contaminants, aflatoxins, and pesticides.
Safety and quality testing protocols
Our Quality Assurance team executes a comprehensive suite of analytical tests to verify identity, potency, and purity:
● Macroscopic Inspection: A non-destructive or destructive visual testing method to authenticate the herb species and specific plant parts used.
● Microscopic Examination: Histological analysis and comparison against certified reference specimens to confirm species identity.
● TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography): Chemical fingerprinting to verify identity against certified reference standards.
● HPLC/PDA (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Photo Diode Array): Quantification of active ingredient content to ensure potency and consistency.
● HPLC-FD (HPLC with Fluorescence Detection): Screening for aflatoxins.
● HPLC/ELSD (HPLC with Evaporative Light Scattering Detector): Specialized analysis (e.g., for Rehmannia) to determine quality via saccharide ratio analysis.
● ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry): High-sensitivity screening for heavy metals.
● GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry): Detection of pesticide residues to strictly monitor safety limits.
● LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry): Screening for the presence of prohibited compounds such as aristolochic acid.
● Microbiological Testing: Full analysis for yeast, mold, and pathogenic microorganisms.
Certification and compliance
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
No product leaves our facility without validation. A Certificate of Analysis is generated for every production batch, reviewed and approved by the Head of Quality Assurance. This certifies that the finished product meets all international safety and quality standards prior to market release.
Traceability
We maintain complete supply chain transparency. Using the unique lot number on any finished product, Zhenatura can trace the entire production history back to the specific raw herb sample lot and its corresponding Certificate of Analysis.
Batch-to-batch consistency
Achieving uniformity in herbal extracts is a significant industry challenge, as natural botanical materials vary based on origin, climate, harvest timing, and storage conditions. We addresses this through a dual approach. The first one is source control: We inspect and monitor botanical materials directly at cultivation sites to minimize raw material variance. The second one is process control: We utilize innovative manufacturing technologies and strictly adhere to PIC/S GMP guidelines to standardize production.
Constituent verification
We employ High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to analyze bio-active constituent levels in every batch of raw material. By strictly controlling the input variance of botanical ingredients, we ensure that the final product maintains consistent efficacy and quality, batch after batch.
